artist lee price may be the most talented photorealistic painter i've ever seen, these are incredibly amazing, and at first i had NO IDEA they were paintings, her body of work is an awesome portrayal..............i NEED one of these paintings!!!

so, in looking forward to our european trip, i stumbled upon this wonderfully white/colorful place in spain, i love the use of color and that light, it's like nothing else, uh, i can hardly wait.

in addition to the color use and light, i love all the textural differences, poor john is hating it departure minus 3 days (in europe) when i started hurling myself around and demanding he leave me there. i already have post vacation blues and it's still 6 weeks away, really neurosis??

Birthday and Back in Action

Today is my friends __th birthday and one of her goals this year was to ride the bridge, guess what she did on day no.1?

I am so proud of her, she did great!

didn't complain, loved almost every minute of it, too.

I too am so damn glad to be back out on my bike after weeks of injury with my shoulder.

if you know me, you know i love white walls, i've done the "color" thing before and not to say i won't again in the future but i really love the blank slate of white walls it makes spaces seem so much larger. next to plain white walls, i love this idea, not sure how long i'd like to live with it, but i think it's really cool and definitely the only faux finish i'd want to live with:

i found this post the other day at remodelista and immediately called my sister who lives in oakland and is always on the up and up of the restaurant/food scene to see if she'd  heard of it.
in fact she had not so she called to make reservations, can't wait to hear her report on dinner there.

i am completely obsessed with these sconces, oh god, it hurts how much i love these, where there's a will, dammit you will see my version in our dining room as soon as i figure it out!

meant to post this a while back, but mid-post something screwed up and i have been down for a week with severe chronic shoulder pain, after an MRI, and x-rays they say it is some inmpressive calcification of the shoulder and not a tear. yes! A cortisone shot should have me back on track but it has not worked yet so little bummed about that. amidst all this margaux completely tore her other knee so she is having reconstructive knee surgery for the second time in 3 mos. WOW

looking forward

bf and i are headed to europe in may, and i could not be more excited, and ready for a vacation.

we have rented this houseboat on the prinsengracht canal for 5 nights

and we will be renting bikes to get around, how very dutch.

this is the apartment in barcelona where we are staying over my 35th birthday.

from here we head to ibiza for a few nights to stay with bf's uncle, more updates as they warrant
